Well, it's not long ago since my last trip to Sushi Sen and now here it is japanese restaurant too, but this time, it's around Serpong. So, last week i just want to catch a coffee at Turning Point and suddenly there's a huge sign of congratulation flower board new in front of this place that i didn't familiar with before; so it must be new! At first we want to try to eat at this place but then, they say because it's still in a soft opening so they open from 5 p.m. Since i'm really curious about this place, just last saturday, i'm back again to eat at this place. Because it's no longer grand opening and they open from 11 a.m. Let's say that i'm really thrilled to find out there's japanese restaurant around serpong! Because here, you can't find that much japanese restaurant going around. Why? I still don't know, but here it is! This place is called Torigen. Torigen is owned by Altima Group, it's in one hand with Nanny's Pavilon, Wild Grass, and many more. Torigen located at Gading Serpong, in the shop house across Rumah Kayu Restaurant.



It's not really big as i expected. The first floor only provide 2 seat like this photo. And there's a bar too. One thing that it's really cool is, the chef cook in front of you. So you can watch the chef cook while you're waiting for your food.


I prefer the seated on the second floor, because it's more comfy and more a family type of seated. However, there's no sunlight as i need to take a photo of the food. But in the second floor, there's a place near the window but it's for the smoking room. I'm okay with the smoking room thing, but the waitress say that because there's only two people, he suggest just to eat on the first floor. Because on the smoking room thing they only have a 4 seated table and 8 seated table. But, I think i CAN eat wherever i want, but i just don't want to argue that much since i'm a little bit hungry. Beside, it's kinda fun seated on the bar because yes, you can see the chef cook in front of you LIVE! But, it's still such a bummer tho. Okay moving on!

So apparently everything, by i mean EVERYTHING are all really tempting! They have choices of Sushi, Udon, Don, Teishoku, Japanese Steak, and many more. So many choices, i know right? Enough talking let's just move on to the food!


Salmon Crispy Roll: IDR 55k
I kinda feels, this one is super decent. I just didn't feel about this sushi. It's great sushi, but i think something is missing. I don't like the rice that they use, it's like a usual rice. The salmon is great, but again, it feels really decent.




Aburi Salmon: IDR 35k
Again, i don't really feel this sushi as well. It's great but it feels really decent. I don't know, i think they are kinda slightly overcook, so it just crumble apart when you eat the salmon while i kinda expecting it's half raw.



Tamago Maki: IDR 29k



Salmon Steak: IDR 79k
(Grilled Salmon with Japanese Original Sauce)
I really love this salmon steak! It's not overcook, the sauce is great too. Geez, i'm having to much salmon in this meal, lol.




Hirekatsu Teishoku: IDR 85k
(Japanese set meal with fried tenderloin steak)
It's say in the menu that this is Chef Recommendation, so i expect this must be good! And, turns out, IT IS! The fried tenderloin omg, i could you not! So crispy yet so soft. I don't feel rubbery at all! The meat is really soft it's cut in just one bite. In this set meal, you get Miso soup, salad, and pickled radish. The miso soup is really miss the taste of the miso itself, i kinda expected more. But i just really appreciate the salad. Why? Because they just took care of the detail, like you have  your own sauce for the salad. I've never ever go to japanese restaurant where you can get salad sauce on the set meal, except if you order salad. And moreover, i'm such a salad lover! So this one is a thumbs up set meal! Recommended!

I will definitely go back to this place to eat the other Teishoku Meal. And i really curious for the Garlic Mayo Steak, geez! I'm drooling right now. But i don't think i'll order the sushi. I think we can relate, when you eat sushi in one place and it's really great, you just have a high expectation of the other sushi place. That's what i feel when i eat at this place.
